TREASURE HUNT
Bury your dog's favorite treat or toys in the snow around your yard and see how many they can sniff out!
SNOWBALL FETCH
If your dog loves playing fetch, they will love this game! You will need to make up a stockpile of snowballs to keep up, then throw them for your dog to chase and dig out of the snow. Hint: "Chuck it" ball throwers make awesome snow balls; just scoop and throw!
HIDE & SEEK
You can play this game outdoors or indoors! You will need to distract them long enough to hide or make them sit/stay if they are good at those commands, then call their name just loud enough for them to hear you, but not hear what direction it's coming from.
This game is a lot of fun and very entertaining to watch as they try to find you! Continue to call their name or use their recall command as quietly as possible if you need to give them a hint.
INDOOR GAMES
WHICH CUP?
Using 3 plastic or disposable cups, place a tasty treat or fun toy under one of the cups, then move them around into different spots while telling your dog to sit/stay or leave it. When you are ready, give them the go ahead or release command to find it.
See if you can teach them to sit in front of, touch, or pick up the cup they think the prize is under! This provides tonnes of mental stimulation for your dog when going outside to play isn't an option.
CLEAN UP
This is a great game for pets and a helpful trick for pet owners! Teach your dog to pick up their toys and put them into a basket for a treat or reward. After they have cleaned up all of their toys, place them around the house and get them to do it again. This may take some time to master, but your house cleaning duties will be easier in the end!
